Aspris and EduPod Drive Excellence in Mental Health Education

Aspris Children's Services Partners with EduPod to Drive Excellence in Mental Health Education

Aspris Children's Services, a leading provider of specialist education and residential care in the UK, is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with EduPod, a platform dedicated to enhancing mental health initiatives in schools. This collaboration has led to prestigious accreditation for multiple Schools within Aspris children's services, reinforcing their commitment to a holistic, whole-school approach to mental health.

Through this initiative, Aspris is working closely with Innovating Minds to train Senior Mental Health Leads, equipping them with the expertise to implement comprehensive mental health strategies. So far, 10 new strategic senior leaders have stepped into their roles with confidence, applying their knowledge to positively transform their schools’ mental health provisions. As a direct result, schools across the Aspris network have conducted in-depth audits, developed strategic action plans, and gathered invaluable insights from their school communities—culminating in accreditation through EduPod.

Among the recognised institutions, Hurworth House School, Quay View School, and now Eastwood Grange stand out as shining examples of excellence, each earning the Excelling Award—a testament to their unwavering dedication to student well-being.

  • Hurworth House School specialises in education for boys and girls with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and autism. The school tailors its therapeutic approaches to nurture each child’s individual strengths and life experiences, paving the way for bright futures.
  • Quay View School supports children and young people aged 7–19 with complex needs, including autism, SEMH, and associated learning difficulties. With a focus on personalised learning and support, Quay View empowers students to overcome challenges and thrive in an encouraging, therapeutic environment.
  • Eastwood Grange has also been recognised for its outstanding commitment to mental health and well-being.

Stuart Lees, Headteacher and Senior Mental Health Lead at Eastwood Grange, shared:

“The Senior Mental Health Training course was incredibly valuable in my role as a school lead. The user-friendly Edu Pod system promoted a holistic, inclusive approach to whole-school mental health and well-being. Action points aligned easily with the DfE Education Staff Wellbeing Charter, and follow-up coaching was well-organised. The trainers provided thorough support and feedback, particularly in reviewing policies and procedures. I thoroughly enjoyed the process, and our school is better for doing it.”

“EduPod has been a tremendous support in helping our school adopt a whole school approach to mental health, as recommended by the Department for Education (DfE). Their training programs have been incredibly valuable, equipping our staff with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively promote mental health.

The action plans provided by EduPod have given us a clear and structured framework for developing and implementing our mental health strategy. This has ensured that all our initiatives are well-targeted and effective. Their auditing tools have been particularly helpful in assessing our current practices, identifying areas for improvement, and guiding our ongoing efforts with practical insights.

Regular monitoring and evaluation, facilitated by EduPod, allow us to track the effectiveness of our interventions and make decisions that are centered around our students' needs. Additionally, EduPod has played a key role in enhancing community engagement by providing resources that involve parents and the wider school community in our mental health initiatives.

In summary, EduPod's tools and resources have been essential in helping us create a structured, evidence-based approach to mental health, fostering a supportive environment for everyone in our school community."
Christian Carr, Therapy and Wellbeing Lead at Quay View School

This remarkable achievement reflects the passion and dedication of Aspris schools, proving that fostering mental health awareness is just as vital as academic success. Aspris remains committed to working hand-in-hand with EduPod and Innovating Minds to ensure the ongoing sustainability of these initiatives.

For schools eager to follow in these footsteps, EduPod offers a 30-day free trial, as well as free demos and consultations to kickstart their journey toward accreditation. Join us in shaping a future where mental health is at the heart of education.
